Missing Thumbnail image in Blogger widgets
Missing Thumbnail in Blogger for Embedded YouTube videos
If you have embedded YouTube videos in posts and the thumbnail is missing in the recent posts or Popular posts widget the reason is the missing "http" in the youtube video link
To correct the issue go to the post that is having issue and go in HTML Mode
and then see the link for youtube if its missing the "Http:" then add it and your widgets should start working properly .
ex
Before
<iframe allowfullscreen="" frameborder="0" height="315" src="//www.youtube.com/embed"
After
<iframe allowfullscreen="" frameborder="0" height="315" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed

Thanks this post was helpful. Do you also know why my thumbnails for my photos in the blogger widgets are also missing? I used this technique for the videos, but still not able to solve it for my photos. They were showing before, but when I went into my posts to remove all the formatting (trying to fix the issue I have with the advanced setting font not updating), they are no longer showing in the widget. Any help would be great!
